No more shaft marks
Every recurve and barebow archer knows it: even the smallest inaccuracy when fletching means the index vane doesn't sit exactly right or the nock has to be turned afterwards.
Before
- Marking the shaft
- Aligning double-sided tape exactly by hand
- Laboriously peeling off the protective film
- Sticking on the wing by hand or with yet another tool
With Vane Blitz
- No shaft marks
- No freehand alignment of the tape
- No rework on the nock
- Identical fletching on every arrow in a set
- Huge time savings with the highest repeatability
Suitable for all common spin vanes, for example Spin Wings, XS Wings, GasPro Vanes, Spider Vanes and Jet6 Vanes.
What makes the Vane Blitz special
Other solutions make individual steps easier. The Vane Blitz combines the entire process in one device – from the tape to the finished, bonded wing.
Tape carriage with integrated cutter
The heart of the device: the carriage applies the double-sided tape to the wing precisely and reproducibly, and the cutter trims it straight to length. In a few seconds – with an accuracy that is hard to achieve by hand.
Designed for a large 25 m tape roll. On request I can convert the device to a smaller spool.
Nock holder that rotates smoothly through 360°
Every manufacturer has its own wing geometry. That's why you align the shaft exactly to the desired index vane position before bonding – even with splined shafts, and without having to turn the nock afterwards.
The laser-engraved scale from 0.75" to 1.75" sets the distance between nock and vane precisely.
For right- and left-handed use
By simply swapping a few components you convert the Vane Blitz to left-hand fletching in about a minute. The vane holders handle both right- and left-hand helical wings – you don't need a second system.
Three or four vanes
If you prefer to shoot with four vanes, simply swap the 3-vane nock holder for the 4-vane one.
How to fletch an arrow
An experienced user fletches an arrow with three wings in about a minute. As with any precision tool, you get faster with a little practice.

Set up
Set the distance between nock and vane on the scale and clamp the shaft in the nock holder.

Insert the wing
Always insert the wing the same way into the matching vane holder.

Apply the tape
Guide the holder over the tape carriage. The tape is applied and cut off by the cutter.

Stick on
Stick the wing onto the shaft, rotate on and set the next wing.
A vane holder for every wing
The colored wing adapters are available for different lengths and manufacturers. The lengths always refer to the overall length of the vane.

From barebow archer to inventor
Hello, dear fellow archers! My name is Mario Vergato and I have been shooting a bow for about two years – starting with Olympic recurve, now exclusively barebow. When I switched to barebow I got deeply into arrow tuning and modern wings: from XS Wings through GasPro and Spider Vanes to the Jet6 S that I shoot myself today.
For natural feathers and classic plastic vanes there were plenty of solutions, but none for Spin Wings that covers the whole workflow. So I asked myself a simple question: why does this have to be so complicated?
“A fletching system should adapt to the archer – not the archer to the tool.”

Tips for smooth operation
Aids and tricks that keep the Vane Blitz working precisely over the long term.

Inserting the vane correctly
The vanes should always be inserted into the vane holder in exactly the same way to guarantee the highest possible repeatability when bonding the vane. The photo shows what a correctly inserted vane looks like in the vane holder.

Choosing the right vane holder
The length specifications of the vane holders always refer to the overall length of the vane. It's best to measure your vane once. If your size isn't listed, let me know via the contact form – any length can be made individually at no extra design cost.

The last bit on the tape carriage
For the last small stretch before the vane holder reaches the hole or the blade, keep turning the left knob slowly and guide the holder over the hole behind the blade with the index finger of your right hand. Don't apply much pressure – simply follow the holder with your finger. And as marked on the device: turn the tape back a little before inserting the next vane.

So the tape doesn't stick to the blade
To prevent the tape from later sticking to the cutting surface or the blade, I regularly spray a little PTFE spray from Yachticon (lubricant spray with PTFE non-stick properties) onto the spot where the tape is cut. This makes the vane holder glide better on the carriage and the vane isn't pulled out of the holder. Before spraying, make sure the tape is retracted to its park position. The spray is available at Bauhaus and online for about €15.00. Please make sure it is not the “dry lubricant spray”: it works too, but can leave a light-gray haze on the surface.

Re-coating the vane holders
The inner surface of the vane holders is prepared with a liquid rubber spray. If the grip is no longer sufficient, you can carefully pull the colored holders out of the vane holder and re-impregnate them. For this I use the spray Plasti Dip in clear, available online for about €15.00.

Smaller tape spool
The integrated tape dispenser is designed for a large 25 m roll. It can also be converted to a smaller spool – just get in touch briefly via the contact form if you'd like that.
